Wood Plastic Composite Decking Puts Childrens Safety First

Your child’s or Grand Child’s safety is always on your mind, and we feel the same. That’s why our low maintenance decking, is tested to the highest standards for safety.

Buying the perfect deck, that is low maintenance, doesn’t cost a fortune like most hardwood boards do, but keeps your family safe can be a real headache. Reviews online can often describe timber decking as having mould, stains and rotting. But then plastic decking gets labelled as shiny and squeaky.

This leaves customers confused as to what the best option for garden decking is?

We have the answer in the Colne Valley Decking formula of wood, plastic composite decking. Its superiority over rival products is plain to see and feel. Other products can only imitate but never replicate its absolute quality.
It has become the number one choice of thousands of homeowners and businesses for a reason.
With excellent environmental credentials, outstanding safety ratings and an all but endless lifespan, Colne Valley Decking is fast replacing wood as the standard material for outdoor decking.

Colne Valley Decking Evolution deckboards are manufactured using a complex process and blend of materials. The construction of the deckboard is what we refer to as a twin extrusion, which means that there are two parts to the process, but these are manufactured as one, giving us all the benefits that are associated with the different materials used. The main body of the deckboard is made out of a high quality recycled PVCu which has been quality tested to meet our astringent criteria prior to being used in our product. This ensures that we only use the correct materials and ensure we have control over the quality of our finished product, unlike some other brands on the market today.

The top layer of the deckboard (the skin) is made from a blend of recycled hardwood, and this is blended with a PVC polymer to give the material mix that we have developed, enabling us to produce this unique product.

During our continued research and development, we came to realise that a well-engineered hollow board using PVC materials can offer more advantages and an overall improved quality and better performance.
We have seen and heard all the arguments on comparing these against each other, however, most of these are based on a pure composite board. Colne Valley Decking Evolution deckboards are not composite boards and therefore offer alternative, unsurpassed levels of performance.
The design of the Colne Valley Decking Evolution deckboards has been proven to make them extremely resistant to impact damage and this has been independently confirmed by our accreditations to British Standards -Static Load Test (BS6399 Pt 1), Wear Resistance (BSEN660-2).
Resistance (BS476 Pt7) and Slip Resistance (BS7976-2).
